The diverse types of gas Heating gas boilers available
There are many different types of gas Gas Central Heating Systems available to you. Despite the different names basically these systems usually have copper pipework, radiators and a gas boiler.
Due to the average temperature that is seen across the UK and northern Europe , people barely find the need for air conditioning. Today a good Gas Central Heating system has become a major part of every home, so much so that it is being fitted in all the new houses that are being built.
With the onset of winter, heating becomes crucial to warming your home. Heating your home provides a relaxing and cosy atmosphere. Therefore your heating system needs to be efficient and reliable. Additionally, your heating system should also be safe, user-friendly and durable.
Sealed and vented or pumped systems are the two leading types of Gas Central Heating Systems available.
The most commonly used systems are pumped/vented Central Heating systems. Heating systems using the pump or vent process are equipped with a tank to allow for feeding of replacement water and expansion of heated water. Your house gets hot water through the stored hot water tank, it also supplies heat to the radiators. When the water expands as it is heated the expansion tank allows for this. It is normally placed at the highest place of the house like the attic area, taking up space. The hot water tank has two main functions; to heat the house and and provide hot water for washing.
Most houses, especially the old ones will have a vented/pumped heating system.
A Sealed Gas Central Heating System is a relatively modern technology, and is being adopted by many homeowners today. No water tanks are needed with the sealed system. This unvented system eliminates water tanks and loft plumbing, thus giving a number of advantages.
- There is no chance of pipes freezing in the attic.
- No maintenance or repair work is required for the pipes and tank which would have been in the loft.
- Because the system is not vented, there is less chance of water leaking out.
- The risk of airlocks, corrosion and gunk are reduced because there won’t be any air being taken down into the system through the open holes as the system is sealed.
- The mains water supply can flush the sealed system if necessary.
All the required controls and safety devices are incorporated into the sealed Gas Central Heating systems. A sealed Central Heating System uses water that comes directly from the main water supply. There is no hot water tank, so water is drawn directly from the main supply.
A pressure vessel containing compressed gas, which is kept separate from the sealed system by a diaphragm, is used to allow any pressure variations. The pressure in a sealed Gas Central Heating System is controlled by a valve that lets water out if the pressure becomes too high and opens to refill the system with water if the pressure gets too low.
Central Heating systems are a great way to keep your house warm, also they don’t cost you as much as the other systems would. They also provide you with complete control which is much more than other heating systems can say about themselves.
