The diverse models of gas Heating gas boilers available

There are many different types of gas Central Heating Systems available to you. These systems for the most part are made up of a number of radiators, pipework and of course a gas boiler.

Whilst we need heating systems air conditioners are not needed in the UK and Europe because of the average temperature throughout the year. That is why in the United Kingdom most houses built these days are made with Gas Central Heating Systems fully integrated into the home.

With the onset of winter, heating becomes crucial to warming your home. While blizzards rage on outside, you can be safe and warm on the inside. For this, you need a reliable boiler in your Central Heating system. You should feel that your Central Heating System is safe, easy to use and long lasting.

Two kinds of Gas Central Heating Systems are mainly in use; pumped/vented and sealed systems.

Pumped/vented systems are the most frequent. A pumped/vented Central Heating System has a feed and expansion tank. The hot water tank performs two functions; firstly, supply hot water to your house, and secondly, provides heat to the central heating radiators. Any water expansion that may occur due to heating is handled by the expansion tank. You will most likely find the expansion tank kept in the highest part of the house. It heats the house and doubles as the water supply.

Older homes generally have pumped/vented Gas Central Heating systems.

The sealed Gas Central Heating system is one that more and more people are opting for these days. As the name indicates, a sealed system is a an enclosed system therefore no expansion water tanks are needed. There are no pipework or tanks also in the attic, the system is sealed in the true sense and it has its own advantages.

- There is no risk of pipes freezing in the attic as with older systems.

- As opposed to pumped/vented systems there is no need for maintenance work on tanks or pipes.

- This diminishes the chances of a possible leakage.

- Unlike pumped/vented systems, air is not drawn through open vents so the possibility of air locks, corrosion and sludge is much lower.

- The main water pressure can easily be used to flush out a Sealed system for easy upkeep.

Such a Sealed Central Heating System is installed with all the required gauges, controls and safeguards. The sealed system gets its water through the main water supply at pressure. The pressure of the main water supply benefits the hot water outlets and gives a healthy shower.

A pressure vessel containing compressed gas, which is kept separate from the sealed system by a diaphragm, is used to allow any pressure variations. The safety valve opens up when the pressure in the system rises so that water can escape through it, on the other hand it opens up when the pressure drops down so that the water can refill the system.

Overall Central Heating Systems offer more value for money as compared to alternative heating systems as they can be very efficient. They also provide you with complete control which is much more than other heating systems can say about themselves.
