These days there exist insurance policies which can cover a very wide range of events ranging from pet health through standard problems such as mobile cover. But anyone taking out one of these plans, unless their boiler is still under warranty, only has to pay a small amount more per month to upgrade to a policy that covers repairs and spare parts. This additional money will be a worthwhile payment especially if the boiler is approaching its end of life. Customers need to choose at this stage whether they just want their gas boiler covered, or if they want to extend their cover to the rest of the central heating system, radiators and such like.

Before choosing a policy, read the insurance papers thoroughly especially and make sure you understand the limits and exemptions. The insurance provider may set a ceiling cost for all repairs and spare parts within a year, or fix a limitation on how many house calls they will entertain. Unless you make sure the level of cover is adequate buying the protection could be worthless so you should not choose the cheapest premium unless you know what you are getting.
